Hired! Marketing and Communications Manager

Promoting the company’s four internal divisions across digital platforms and traditional marketing methods as well as events, Heightsafe’s new Marketing and Communications Manager will be expected to continue impeccable growth in brand development, engagement, click through rates and sales conversions.

Employing over 50 full time team members, the business boasts a wealth of longstanding, loyal, blue-chip business clients including Whitbread PLC, Selfridges, John Lewis, XPO Logistics and Travelodge – providing specialist products, services, training and advice on a nationwide scale.

  • Reporting to: Client Director
  • Responsible for: Business and Marketing Support Administrator and external agencies
  • Location: Croft Business Park, Bromborough
  • Basic Salary: Generous, dependent on experience

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Creation of quarterly and yearly marketing plans/strategies including digital platforms, traditional marketing methods and events
  • Original, unique and engaging content creation for our websites (product and service pages, blogs, news posts, and case studies), social media channels, email campaigns, editorial and advertorials, press releases, events and awards
  • Relationship building with key external stakeholders
  • Ensure maximisation and cost-efficiency across all areas of the department and its activities
  • Conduct competitor research, analyse activities and develop actionable plans to keep ahead of the marketplace
  • Aid in the development and creation of marketing collateral for new product and service offerings
  • Ultimate responsibility of company accreditations and management systems, with the assistance of the Business and Marketing Support Administrator
  • Coordination, management and hosting of the company’s corporate and commercial events
  • Management of the company’s internal quarterly newsletter
  • Highlighting local and national CSR opportunities, whilst managing and maintaining positive working relationships with local charities and community causes
  • Management of Business and Marketing Support Administrator, external agencies and freelancers
  • Reporting and analysing performance of cross channel campaigns

Experience and Skill Set Required


  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a marketing role
  • Qualified in Google Analytics
  • Experience working with WordPress content management systems
  • Previous experience working with Mailchimp or similar email campaign tools
  • Proven success implementing digital marketing strategies through SEO, PPC and paid social activity
  • A working knowledge of the construction and/or Health and Safety industries
  • Experience working with all levels, including directors
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and in person
  • Impeccable organisation skills with the ability to structure roles and responsibilities efficiently
  • Ability to prioritise and organise team workloads in a fast pace environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to identify vertical marketing opportunities across varying target audiences
  • High levels of computer literacy including Microsoft and Adobe packages
  • Proven experience of coordinating and managing both commercial and corporate events such as exhibitions, charity golf days and annual staff events
  • Creative writing skills and impeccable grammar
  • Proactive, intuitive and driven
  • Professional and confident
  • Positive and enthusiastic


  • Degree or equivalent in a marketing related course
  • HTML editing skills
  • Video editing skills
  • Technical knowledge of windows and Microsoft packages
  • Presentation skills i.e. creation and delivery
