Heightsafe’s Non-Destructive inspection disciplines include:
- Magnetic Particle Testing and Inspection (MPI)
MPI’s detect surface or near surface breaks in ferromagnetic materials.
- Dye Penetrant Inspection and Testing (DPI/PT)
Penetrant inspection and testing are used to detect surface discontinuities in both ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic materials.
UT is a technique which measures the time for high frequency pulses of sound waves travelling through material.
- Eddy Current Inspection (ECI)
ECI uses electrical currents which are induced into a material, inspecting and observing the interaction between currents and material.
RAD testing is used to reveal internal, surface and sub-surface irregularities within castings, composites, forgings and welded parts. This technique can also be used for corrosion mapping and the measurement of wall thickness.
- Visual Testing and Inspection (VI)
VI testing is commonly used to evaluate the condition of a component or weld and is extensively used to determine whether further inspections, such as the above, are required.
