Our Building Maintenance Unit (BMU) Systems offer bespoke designs that allows personnel to Work at Height quickly and safely. They also work well as long-term Façade Access solutions due to their reliability, efficiency and their average 25 year life span.
A BMU can often be referred to as a gondola, gantry or glass replacement unit, due to its most common purpose.
A BMU will provide the highest level of safety for the Façade workers and the general public, whilst also providing access to all parts of the Façade. If a Building Maintenance Unit is your preferred choice of Façade Access, it will become an integral part of the architectural design.
At Heightsafe, we work with architects to understand the design of the building and the objectives of the BMU. Every building is different and will have different design obstacles to overcome. Depending on the requirements of the building, a building maintenance unit can be installed on free standing tracks to allow the units to traverse the full perimeter of the roof or in a static location.
Heightsafe will always provide a 100% safe, aesthetic and quickest solution.
Cleaning and maintaining tall skyscrapers from top to bottom can be a very difficult task. Façade Access Equipment such as a BMU will allow you to clean the windows safely and securely.
Building Maintenance Units – Compliance Testing
Due to the load capacity that this system can support, it is a legal requirement to have them tested twice annually. At Heightsafe we would recommend 4 inspections annually which would include 2 load test inspections.
Inadequate BMU maintenance schedules can compromise safety and cost you more in the long term. At Heightsafe, we offer a comprehensive inspection, testing, and certification service for all systems. Therefore, ensuring that your system is maintained in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations whilst remaining fully compliant.
