Regular Safety Checks On Equipment

When was the last time you had your safety equipment checked? Having cable based fall protection systems regularly checked is important to ensure that they are still performing at optimum levels.

When was the last time you had your safety equipment checked? Having cable based fall protection systems regularly checked is important to ensure that they are still performing at optimum levels.

Here at Heightsafe, unlike our competitors, we offer a service to check various different points on your cable based fall arrest systems. We will check that the system can be reached safely, and that all pins, circlips and fixings are in place.

We will pull test the end swages using the latest Safety Lifeline Cable Tester and can provide photographic evidence. We can also do a line drawing of the system showing the number of posts, their centres and the access position will be produced. Finally, all user equipment will be checked and serial numbers recorded.

There are further inspections that should always take place at various intervals after your fall arrest systems have been installed. Annual inspections and testing done by a competent and qualified person should be done in accordance with section 12 BS 7883 of 2005.

Fall protection systems, PPE, and Eyebolts should be tested every 12 months, and abseil anchors should be tested every 6 months to meet the required standards.

Our safety line testing and other tests for working at height equipment can be done nationwide We are also happy to contact you two months prior to the expiry date to book in your re-tests, so that they are never overlooked.
