Bespoke Overhead Fall Arrest Track for Ashville Aggregates

Client:

The Client

Ashville Aggregates, based in West Drayton are a waste management company operating in the construction industry, specialising in waste disposal and transportation haulage services; as well being a highly regarded aggregates supplier – both primary and recycled. In addition, Ashville are a supplier of ready-mix concrete and screed. Ashville have a fleet of lorries offering grab and tipper hire, muck away services, and aggregates and concrete supply to their clients in the Southeast of the UK.

The Ashville brand is well-known in the construction industry due to their strong online presence – their owner and Director Daniel Ashville Louisy hosts a weekly vlog on YouTube offering an insight into their day-to-day operations. Their group denomination Ashville Holdings have also been a sponsor of Queens Park Rangers since 2017 and have now become the front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2021/22 season.

The Brief

Heightsafe attended site to survey the area and determine which system would work best for Ashville’s requirements. We were tasked with installing a Mansafe System to allow safe access for operatives at the top of the cement mixers in their external yard area. The system would need to allow space for their lorries to park underneath to take their load, and allow operatives access to above, whilst ensuring their safety.

The Solution

An Overhead Fall Arrest Track was the ideal solution for Ashville Aggregates, as it allowed the space required underneath for lorries to dock, and provided a flexible, safe access system for operatives to reach and work on top of the lorries safely. A Fall Arrest Track would provide a secure system to capture workers safely in the event of a fall. Our team were able to efficiently install the rail system, inspect and test to ensure compliance, and train operatives to safely use the track.

The Outcome

Ashville Aggregates are now able to safely work at height above their cement mixer lorries with the knowledge they have a suitable system in place. The track is easy and quick for operatives to attach on to and provides a flexible system enabling operatives to freely move around without a restricting them from carrying out their duties.
