Edge Protection Solutions For Talbot Green Superstore
The Client
A global retail giant with a rich history dating back to 1919, standing as a beacon of innovation in the retail landscape. Recently, at their Pontyclun Talbot Green superstore location, they faced the challenge of upgrading outdated roof guardrails to ensure the safety and efficiency of its maintenance processes. The Brief
The existing guardrails at Pontyclun’s Talbot Green site had reached the end of its lifespan, calling for a robust replacement. Their primary concern was to facilitate safe access to the roof for maintenance activities while adhering to stringent safety regulations. Heightsafe was tasked with designing and implementing a comprehensive edge protection system that would address these concerns effectively, including the removal of the old guardrail.
The Solution
Drawing upon our expertise and in-house design capabilities, we devised a tailored solution to meet their unique requirements. After meticulous evaluation, we proposed the removal of the outdated guardrails and the installation of a state-of-the-art KeeGuard galvanised steel freestanding weighted guardrail system. This system, comprising 204lm of guardrails, was meticulously designed to provide collective protection for users while ensuring ease of access and compliance with safety standards. Manufactured from 100% recycled PVC compound, the weighted feet were strategically placed at every upright, guaranteeing stability and durability. With uprights spaced at optimal intervals and designed to suit vertical heights, our solution met BS EN 13374 Class A & BS 13700 standards, ensuring utmost safety and reliability.
