Founded in 1985, STERIS operate throughout more than 100 countries as a leading provider of infection prevention and various other procedural products and services for healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
The Brief
At STERIS’s storage facility in Slovenia, personnel required a safe working method across five levels to maintain a state-of-the-art robotic racking system to resolve breakdowns and blockages, as well as regular maintenance.
STERIS’s HSSE Manager contacted Heightsafe to provide a Work at Height solution to ensure these personnel are protected whilst working in hazardous environments.
The Solution
Heightsafe’s Installation and Special Projects team worked closely alongside the manufacturers of this system, ensuring fixing details of a specialist solution (from European supply partners, Fallprotec) did not impact functionality of the racking system.
The Outcome
Ensuring personnel were protected whilst having both hands free to conduct maintenance activities was key for this project. Heightsafe provided 380lm of Overhead Fall Arrest Tracks, utilising trolleys and inertia reels which allow two users to navigate along walkways whilst conducting maintenance activities on state-of-the-art robotic racking systems.
