The Client
Gwyn Evans Leisure Centre is positioned in the heart of the Gwersyllt community, adjacent to Ysgol Bryn Alyn School. The centre serves as a vibrant hub, offering a variety of fitness and recreational facilities. Nestled in the village of Gwersyllt, just north of Wrexham.
Gwyn Evans Leisure Centre boasts an extensive range of facilities, including a swimming pool, fitness gym, diverse classes, a spacious sports hall, and more. Catering to various recreational needs.
The Brief
Gwyn Evans Leisure Centre reached out to Heightsafe with a specific requirement: to enhance roof safety systems for their facility. The objective was to ensure safe access to the roof for maintenance activities, including work on solar panels and general roof upkeep.
The Solution
Heightsafe collaborated closely with Gwyn Evans Leisure Centre to identify and propose optimal solutions tailored to the building’s unique needs. Our in-house design team crafted a bespoke plan, accounting for the specific roof build-up and structure dimensions.
The proposed solution comprised a combination of a Freestanding Weighted Guardrail (38lm), Rivet Fixed Guardrail (24lm), Hook-on ladder, Step Unit, Aluminium Vertical Access Ladder for the pool roof, Aluminium Vertical Access Ladder, Fixed Mesh Skylight Covers, and 2 x Safety Line System Rivet Fixed for the sports hall roof.
The Outcome
Heightsafe successfully executed the project, supplying, installing, testing, and certifying all necessary systems. The comprehensive safety measures implemented now allow authorised personnel to access the roof safely, ensuring seamless maintenance of solar panels and other general roof-related tasks.
