Kee Walk Installation for Bristol Technology Business
The Client

The Brief
Oxford Instruments instructed Heightsafe to install a Kee Walk Walkway System complete with Handrail and toe boards on their roof area, to allow safe access for operatives maintaining the plant systems on the roof.
The client wanted a safe, permanent structure in place – one that would work with the changing pitch of the roof. Kee Walk is a modular solution, which can be designed to adapt to the roof it will be installed on, so it was the ideal solution for this project.
The Solution
Heightsafe conducted a thorough site survey, taking the time to listen to the client’s needs and how the system would need to work for them. We then worked closely with the technical design department in our supply chain, to ensure all measurements were accurate and compliant with the relevant standards.
Due to the gradient of the roof, the system had to be adaptable and change with the height of the roof to ensure the walkway stayed level throughout. Kee Walk is an industry-leading product, with long-lasting durability and no welding required to fit together. Another advantage is that due to the modular design, it is easy to amend the layout in future if this was something the client wanted for any further plant system installations.
The Outcome

Oxford Instruments now have a comprehensive Walkway System, complete with Handrail and Toe Boards to ensure any loose tools won’t cause a hazard if they are dropped. Our Kee Walk system provides a clear demarcation for defined walkways, and is made from non-slip, fire resistant treads to ensure a safe route even in wet and frosty conditions.
