Kee Guard Edge Protection for London Primary School
The Client

The company’s primary goal is to reduce dependency on fossil fuels by offering a range of services, including energy and carbon management, product development and sourcing, consultancy, and project management.
The Brief
On behalf of Grange Harrow School, Convert Energy were tasked with sourcing and managing the installation of Photovoltaic (PV) Panels across the roof of the school buildings. In addition to the installation of the panels, they needed to provide Edge Protection for maintenance personnel accessing the roof areas.
After careful evaluation, our in-house estimating team determined that Kee Guard Premium was the ideal solution. With limited roof space available, the compact, freestanding design of Kee Guard Premium provided collective edge protection while still offering enough room for personnel to navigate around the solar panels.
The Solution
Kee Guard Premium is a modular, freestanding system, often used on roofs with limited space or where roof membrane penetration is not desired. It is simple to assemble and adaptable to changes in the roof layout, allowing for future adjustments, such as accommodating additional plant systems.
In addition to Kee Guard Premium, Heightsafe installed an Access Ladder and multiple Step Units to facilitate safe access across the changing roof levels.
The Outcome
Our expert engineers successfully installed nearly 400 meters of Kee Guard Premium, 6 Step Units and an Access Ladder in just one week, with no disruption to the school’s daily activities. All systems were thoroughly inspected and tagged to ensure compliance with current British Standards.
The school now benefits from a comprehensive edge protection solution, ensuring that all personnel accessing the roof are fully protected while working at height.
