Priding themselves on working closely within the community, the group have experience within the residential, commercial, leisure and education sectors. They offer apprenticeships to young people who live locally, aiming to provide them with the skills they need for a career in construction.
The Brief
SJ Roberts Construction contacted Heightsafe to provide a Work at Height System for their development of new business park buildings in Shropshire. The site consists of 4 buildings, they are similar sizes, and all have a metal deck roof with photovoltaic panels installed on top.
There was a requirement for a Roof Access System to allow personnel to safely maintain the PV panels on the roof.
The Solution
Heightsafe offer a number of Work at Height Systems to suit all site requirements. A Safety Line System is a great solution where installing Edge Protection is either not feasible or would visually impact the building.
Heightsafe offer a range of Safety Line Systems to suit all roof types, including Flat, Standing Seam, and Metal Deck Roofs. Heightsafe designed, installed, and certified Safety Line Systems to the metal deck roof sheets; each of them secured using rivet-fixing and sealed using a semi butyl mastic.
The Outcome
The Safety Line Systems installed by our team provide safe access for personnel navigating around the roof space. Operatives will be able to safely maintain the solar panels and carry out other maintenance works such as gutter cleaning.
All systems were tested for compliance and passed in accordance with BS EN 795:2012, providing peace of mind to the building owners and maintenance staff that those using the systems will be safe.
